Our Story.

I am Simoné van Niekerk, founder of Fill A Tummy NPC.

The school where I teach, runs a feeding programme, providing 150 children with a sandwich on a daily basis. Unfortunately, due to funds being cut and parents using the food parcels in the wrong way, the school was forced to stop all food parcels.

But seeing so many children suffer in silence, going hungry every weekend and during school holidays, made me realise I needed to help. I started buying food monthly, keep it in my class and every Friday handing out a bag with a few food items for the weekend.
 
But the need was too great for my own teacher’s budget and hence I started asking for food and money donations…and so Fill A Tummy NPC was born.
